Famous American tennis player Billie Jean King commented on the increase in prize money on the Women’s Tour.

“Fifty years ago, I made five thousand dollars at a tournament, thus becoming the first athlete to get 100,000 in prize money in a season.

Today, only tennis players are in the top 10 highest-paid female athletes according to Forbes. Our sport has given women a lot of opportunities, but we shouldn’t stop working on it,” King wrote on Twitter.
