Kasper Ruud wins San Diego title

Tenth-ranked Norwegian Kasper Ruud beat 28th-ranked British player Cameron Norrie 6-0, 6/2 in the San Diego Open final.

In 1 hour and 1 minute, Ruud, 22, had one aces, no service errors and five break points, while Norrie, 26, had one service, two doubles and no breaks. It was the athletes’ first official meeting.

Ruud would receive 250 ranking points and $92,515 in prize money for winning the San Diego Open. The title was the Norwegian’s fifth of the season.
